Choosing Words by Michael Hirsch
Short strong words are better in many ways, they get to the point without any twist and turns, look better and are not as confusing. Choosing longer words might confuse the reader and will not look smarter or any better. As the video says, stop is a better word than discontinue, it’s more affirmative and gets a clear message trough.

Thanks, Michael. I liked this video on conciseness. I never thought about the one syllable word as another way to be concise. I like the phrase. Think about expressing instead of impressing.
ReplyDeleteRemember that you need a tad more text substance and proofread your work. There is a comma splice and a spelling mistake.
Interesting topic that most people don't think about. But it is an important one
ReplyDeleteCool topic I never thought about choosing certain words instead of others I just talk ill think about this in my next interview.
